Bedford Bridge
Midland and City Developments are developing a major town centre riverside site in Bedford. Part of the brief is a new bridge for pedestrians and cyclists spanning 50m across the River Great Ouse. KKE, with consulting engineers Price and Myers, won the competition with a stainless steel single span design, combining complex three dimensional curves and facets to create a beautiful and virtually maintenance-free structure.
